It’s the most common excuse reason I hear for not blogging or participating on social media. “I don’t have time for that. I’m too busy.” Maybe you are. Maybe you aren’t. I don’t know and I’m not judging you. Lord knows I don’t blog enough myself.
But maybe I can provide a little motivation/inspiration for you. I was at a conference earlier this year and had the pleasure of hearing Ted Garnett speak. Well, speak is not entirely accurate. Perform is more like it. Ted is a force of nature and a terrific speaker. He spoke about how to manage a workforce for maximum morale and efficiency. During the presentation he played a video that shamed and inspired me at the same time.
It’s one of the two reasons I think we need to stop saying, “I’m too busy to blog.”
Reason #1: You’re Probably Not Too Busy

I encourage you to take 5 minutes to watch Ted’s video below. It’s from his 8 Minute A-Game website. In it, I think he blows a gigantic hole in the “I’m too busy” excuse.
If you really believe that blogging is a tool that can help move your marketing to the next level, after watching that video do you think you could find a couple of hours per week somewhere, somehow?
Reason #2: You Know Who Isn’t Too Busy?
Your competitor, that’s who. And when it comes to content marketing, it’s far easier to maintain a lead than to play catch-up.
